Description

The Home Modification Program offers a combination of classes and paid "on the job training" to students that are interested in starting an exciting career as home modification cleaners. Over the course of 1 month(42 hours of classroom instruction and 60 hours on the job training), students will learn everything they need to know about hoarding, and the difficulty that hoarders face in keeping their homes free of clutter.

Sadly, hoarding is a serious condition that can debilitate a home owner?s life and greatly reduce the value of his or her home. As a home modification cleaner, you will work as part of a team whose goal it is to clean hoarder?s homes, and help them to regain control of their lives.

Some skills that you will acquire in this program include building a relationship with a hoarder, overcoming barriers through negotiation and conflict resolution, assessing a job, learning best practices regarding safety and cleaning equipment, and recognizing various insects and ro
