PREREQUISITE: ENG 102, or co-requisiteThis course will provide a survey of children's literature from a cross-cultural perspective. Students will develop a framework for evaluating the texts for literary and artistic quality and will examine the value system projected by individual literary works. The course will introduce students to relevant children's literature collections and reference materials. Finally, students will learn to apply critical concepts to other forms of media directed at children, including, film, television, magazines, and computer games.
