Prerequisite or Corequisite: ENG101 This course presents an overview of American History since the Civil War. Focusing on the myth or reality of the "American Dream," students will examine the history and sociopolitical implications of the industrial revolution, urbanization, immigration, racism, and the development of the United States as a major imperial power, as well as current inequalities and issues within the United States.
