Course taught at Northeastern University
Designed to help students expand their reading and writing skills. Students read fiction and non-fiction texts, make critical interpretation of the texts, write expository prose that makes use of a variety of rhetorical strategies, conduct library research when appropriate, reflect on and assess their writing, and refine their documentation skills. Requires students to write multiple drafts and emphasizes the writing process as well as the quality of the finished product. Students must keep a portfolio of their work.
This course can be used as a general elective or a humanities elective.
